Yes, how do you feel?
It would be nice to have a place to go when you just want to say how are you feeling..

Do you ever feel disconnected? Sometimes I just feel disconnected, from everything. Don't have much more to say, just wanted a place to say it. Is it ok if I borrow some space just to spit it all out? Everything seems so distant and unaccessible.

Nice idea CrysClap

It will be interesting to look back at the posts and see how long the good moods lasted before the darker periods that we all have from time to time come around to depress us.

Today has been a good day and I’m feeling pretty good. I was in a fair bit of pain while I was in town but it’s gone now and I’m looking forward to a very good day tomorrow.

I’m definitely in the middle of a good periodThumbs Up

I hate waking up early in the morning! I can't sleep during the day, I often have problems at nights too, so mornings are terrible for me.
The only good thing is that now I wake up at 6.20am, when I did this same job before I had to wake up at 500am, sometimes at 430am, so on this front things are a little better..

I feel wonderful this morning. The alarm woke me up at 6am and its a beautiful day in Manchester. I've had my first intake of caffiene and I'm off for a shower. Once dressed I'll have a gentle stroll over to the church for morning service and then enjoy a cup of tea with friends......... Not a bad start to the dayBig smile

Things are really looking up at the moment. The pain specialist has prescribed some large anaesthetic plasters to help with the pain in my right hand. They actually work and for the first time in ages I don’t have pain in my right hand. There is a downside that I can’t really feel anything in the hand and even the forefinger that was working quite well has now packed up but the relief from the pain is the main thing.

There’s also another side effect. The plasters are only meant to be worn for 12 hours at a time and then you’re meant to go 12 hours without one on. Within minutes of taking them off the pain returns so I’m kind of accidentally on purpose forgetting to take them offEmbarrassed

And that’s where the other side effect kicks in. I’m already on an extremely high dose of painkillers and the plasters are presumably filtering more pain killing properties into my system. There are certain places in Manchester where it would cost you a small fortune to feel as good as I do this morning but as long as I feel this good I’m going to do what Moses did and keep taking the tabletsLOL

I would like to point out that was my friends who told me about the places in Manchester where strange substances could be brought and I have never frequented such placesWink

Hope to get some writing done today, especially after this!

I'm not usually an arrogant person, but today I felt somewhat contemptuous Evil Smile. Getting 100% in tests and teaching myself more C++ while various classmates discuss last night's television and who Facebooked who... it's a good feelingBig smile.

If you can bear to drag yourself away from who won the latest heat of X FactorConfused and the classmates who have been so incredibly stupid to open a FacebookConfused account and give out their personal details to any Tom, Dick or Harry then you’re not being arrogant Quark.

I spent most of my school days on a football pitch dreaming of playing for Manchester United. It’s too late for me to change anything but if you’ll take some advice from someone who did get it badly wrong...... Keep your head down now and when you land the job of your dreams..... You had a dream Juggler... maybe you couldn't have caught it, but at least you have one.Heart I mean, I meet people my age every day that don't even have that - they seem content to do absolutely nothing at all. It's quite creepy, in a way. Where do these people go? Where are they in ten years time?

I'm sorry if this is mildly depressing, it's just something I need to get off my chest.Ermm It's hard to feel sorry for these people, who're typically brutish and inherently nasty, but I do worry about them.

I'm very frustrated, today I tried to reach on the phone the agency that should bring me all the stuff for the shop, and there was no one answering, morning or afternoon! It's Monday, there should be people in the office on Mondays! Now everything is postponed another day, and I'm very sick of telling people 'sorry I don't have it yet, but if you come back in a few days I'll have the shop full again' ! I feel like I'm going to work for nothing, it's very frustrating, and it makes me feel like I'm stuck with something worse than what I actually allow myself to believe normally. Oh I'm so tired of this. If the guy who ran the shop before me had done a decent job, I'm not saying good but at least decent, I should have had everything ready for the first of July, instead it's almost the first of september and still here I am, with nothing to sell! So frustrating..

Oh dear it looks as if you are having a difficult time Crys. I know you to be an honest hard working truthful young lady and I believe that it’s not your fault that you can’t get the stock you need. I’m sure that if you’re honest with your customers and explain to them as you have done on the forum then they’ll believe you.

If you explain to them that you are doing your very best to cover for someone else’s lack of commitment and tell them that when you’re in full control of the stock taking that things will be running smoothly then I'm convinced they’ll understand.

It rather seems to me that this thread has been a very sad place today. Quark feels sorry and desperate for his fellow students who choose not to be as committed to their studies as he is and Crys is feeling that she is letting her customers down when it’s clearly not her fault.

As I’m probably the oldest person on this forum I’m going to tell it as I see it. It’s nice to show concern for others and to try to help but there comes a time when all the help in the world isn’t going to make people change.

Twittering about on Facebook isn’t going to help anyone pass their exams. You have realized this Quark and you choose to work to make sure you do pass your exams. That’s an attitude and a commitment you rarely see these days and I’m proud of you and I’m sure that the others on the forum will feel exactly the same.

I know how hard you have worked in the shop Crys but only because of what you’ve told me. The people who you are having to say sorry too have seen you working and they’ll know who has been doing the hard work and holding the place together. If the guy in charge hasn’t been doing his job properly then your customers will know this and you have to nothing to worry about.

To hear two young people showing concern and feeling guilt over the behaviour of others is heart warming but in both these cases so uncalled for as it’s the actions of others that has caused the problems. I just hope that with a good night’s sleep you both feel a bit happier in the morning and that you both have a better and brighter day.

Me.......I'm just a lawnmower you can tell me by the way I walk.

oh thank you, and you know what, today it was a little brighter, I had some people telling me they were glad to see me back, and saw that nice old man that always went to the shop when I worked there before, and in a way I missed him, he's nice, always trying to set me up with his sonLOL I mean, it may not be flattering for his son, hearing his father trying to get him a girlfriend, but in a way it is to me that he likes me as to want me part of their lives Big smile and cross your fingers, from tomorrow I should start receiving my daily delivery from that agency too!

But to be fair, I think you're too kind with me, I'm not that good with people, and often it makes me crazy how they think I do nothing all day because they only see me sitting or handing them a newspaper, and not thinking at all that there is actually more work done inside, when there are no customers around.

anyway, today is brighter than yesterday, and hopefully tomorrow everything will be starting going the way it's supposed to Big smile

Your post is the best thing that's happened to me all day Crys. If you'll excuse me I think you underestimate yourself. You're a nice person and that reflects in every post I've ever seen by you and in every PM you've sent me. I think the old man who is playing Cupid is one of many customers who will know that newspapers don't arrive by magic and that it takes hard work and dedication to make sure the shop runs smoothly and I'm not in the least bit surprised the old man would be happy to see his son romantically linked to you.

You just wait and see how many smiles and ''thank you's'' you get when you've got the shop running with military precision and everything is back to normal. I have no intention of turning this thread into a miracle of religion, born again Christian opportunity because you know I don't force my beliefs on others but I did have a word for both you and Quark last night and I'm delighted to hear that things have been better for you today.

Thanks Juggler, been a bit sleep-deprived of late but I'm definitely feeling better.Smile Guess this thread does good for people after all.

Had a marvelous new idea for a game that I might start planning in the Unreal Kit. Can't give many specific details right now, it's somewhere between Thief: The Metal Age and Back to the Future, with some steampunk thrown in for good measure.Approve

It's amazing how things can be sparked just by gazing aimlessly at your watch (It's one of those wind-up ones, my grandfather bought it for me as a child) Within seconds you have a title screen, then a name, then a setting and a plot outline, a unique mechanic, the characters and play style...

Well, I better start working Sleepy.

With a 100% success rate of helping people to feel better I'm feeling pretty good today as wellBig smile
I think a big thank you is in order to Crysania for thinking of the idea in the first placeClap

I'm pleased that things are starting to look up for you Quark and maybe the inspiration your Grandfathers watch has given you has stopped you from opening your very own Facebook account and joining in with a deep and meaningful discussion about the latest X Factor sensation.

Who no one will remember by Christmas.LOL

This is one of the first threads I look at whenever I log on and I think it's a great place to let the others know how things are going and if you see that someone is feeling down then maybe one of us can do what we can to bring a smile to their face.

If anyone is feeling really down then have a look at the photos of me dressed as a Ballerina in this years fancy dress competition that I've recently posted on my Facebook account.......

Actually it's a rather fetching latex Basque and matching thong if you must know. For those members with a stronger constitution I can post some pictures minus the vest and Tutu in the adult section if the demand is thereWink

Does the piano come complete with a Liberace type chappie. The image of you and your purple hair under a grand piano with Liberace grinning away and tickling the ivories is only fit for the adult section and password protected to protect the innocentEmbarrassed.

How do I feel?

Crappy.

How did I feel yesterday?

Crappy.

How will I probably feel tomorrow?

Crappier.

But that's irrelevant. Because no one around me will ever know. Because college and upper-middle class society (which thinks that having a closet full of clothes means that one has only a closet full of clothes) is defined by masks of saccharine smiles, false & syrupy voices, and politically correct bull. My ability to lie well is increasing exponentially.

My lesson today: when a teacher gives you an assignment asking what you think the existential meaning of their class is, never tell the truth, lest you end up saying (in a politically correct manner): "Existentially, your class is a waste of money and time."

How do I feel today?
What does it even matter how I feel? All that matters is what it seems that I feel, and as far as everyone else around me is concerned, I seem to be just like them: coated with a veneer of exaggerated happiness because they are now all free to cavort as they please. . .

From reading your post one thing is very obvious. You are extremely intelligent and I’m not sure that I am qualified to give you any advice. Crysania started this thread so that people who were feeling a bit down could be cheered up by others.

I didn’t really want to go into my personal problems but it might help you realize how lucky you are so here goes. I used to work for a blue chip company, earned close to thirty grand a year and lived with a lady that I loved with all my heart. Eighteen months ago that lady was taken from me. Ten months ago I had a stroke and now nothing works on my right hand side and my speech is severely impaired. I now live on sickness benefits and I’m up to my eyes in financial difficulties.

There have been times when I felt like giving up and ending it all. With the help and support of some amazing friends both in the real world and on this forum, an amazing medical team and my faith in God I’ve realized how lucky I am to be alive.

Life is hard game Sivan. When you get dealt your cards you either play or fold. I hope that by putting my cards on the table you might think that your hand is a lot better than mine and that you decide to play.

Me.......I'm just a lawnmower you can tell me by the way I walk.
